Oblivion Mods

Below is a list of the mods I use in my Oblivion Overhaul series.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO)

This is a huge mod that adds a TON of new content, completely redoes leveled lists, and generally makes your experience much more interesting, and much more difficult! A must-have, in my opinion.

Increased Damage Mod

This mod fixes what is, in my opinion, one of the biggest weaknesses of Oblivion. I always found the vanilla combat to be a slog, due to the huge health pools that even basic enemies had. This mod makes everything (including you) take more damage, greatly speeding up the flow of combat. Highly recommended.

All +5 Attribute Modifiers

Technically a "cheat" mod, but makes managing your character less frustrating. In vanilla Oblivion, there is a ton of planning necessary in order to optimize your level-ups. While this could technically be considered a "cheat" mod, it is immensely helpful in managing the intense difficulty of OOO.

Vanilla House Prices for OOO
Changes the player home prices back to vanilla levels for the Oblivion Overhaul mod. In OOO, most of the houses are ridiculously expensive, meaning you likely won't be able to purchase a player home until multiple hours in. Use of this mod will be a matter of personal preference.

Unofficial Oblivion Patch
Pretty much required, just like with any Bethesda game, honestly.

Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch
Same as above, but for Shivering Isles.

Landscape LOD Texture Replacement

Improves the texture quality of far-off terrain. The effect is subtle, but definitely noticeable. Essentially just makes Oblivion look just a little bit nicer.

Enhanced Water
Makes the water look better. Pretty self-explanatory.

No Persistent Enchantment Glow Fix
Removes the horrible enchantment glow that happens when equipping an enchanted item. Another matter of personal preference, but I prefer when my character doesn't look like a glow stick.

Oblivion Stutter Remover

Improves stability and removes the "stuttering" that can occur on some PCs. Your mileage may vary; it may help a bunch, or you may not even need it.

Fast Exit

Makes Oblivion quit instantly. May also fix the "crashing upon exit" glitch, depending on your setup.

Stirk

Part of an unfinished Oblivion version of Tamriel Rebuilt, Stirk adds a new island off the coast of Anvil, complete with its own dungeon(s) and main quest. It's short, but has a few interesting scripted moments and a branching story.

Elsewyr the Deserts of Anequina

An unfinished mod that adds the entire region of Elsewyr to Oblivion! Includes a surprising amount of content considering its unfinished state, including quests, factions, dungeons, and a large explorable area. Also, rideable elephants.
